What is Sudafed Sinus-Ease Nasal Spray?
Sudafed Sinus-Ease Nasal Spray is a soothing treatment spray for blocked noses. It helps to clear your blocked nose whether it’s caused by a cold, the flu, sinusitis, hay fever, or anything else. If you have a busy life and need an easy congestion remedy that you can take in just a few seconds, Sudafed sinus spray could be exactly what you need.
Why is my nose blocked?
A blocked nose usually isn’t anything to worry about, and it can be caused by lots of different things. Some of the most common reasons why you could be experiencing a runny nose include:
- Cold and flu
- Hay fever and other allergies
- Sinusitis
How will Sudafed sinus spray help to ease my congestion?
Sudafed sinus spray contains an active ingredient called xylometazoline, which is a decongestant. It works by relieving swelling and inflammation in your nasal passaged, helping to clear the blockage. It lasts for up to 10 hours, reducing the amount of mucus produced in your nose so you can relax and breathe easy.
Can I use this product if I’m taking other medication?
If you’re taking any other medication, including those you obtained without a prescription, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. Do not use Sudafed sinus spray if you are currently taking depression medicine called MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) or have taken some within the past 2 weeks.
Can I use this nasal spray if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
You should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Some medications may not be suitable at this time and a medical professional may wish to suggest another product for you.
How to use this nasal spray
Remove the plastic cap from the nozzle. Hold the bottle upright and place the nozzle into one of your nostrils. Breathe in through your nose and use your fingers to press the nozzle downwards, spraying this product into your nostril. Repeat in the other nostril. Wipe the nozzle and replace the plastic cap after use. Spray once into each nostril 2 – 3 times a day. Do not use for more than 7 days at a time.
When should this product not be used?
Sudafed nasal spray is not suitable for use in children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you’re allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not use this product if you have:
- Recently had neurosurgery
- Had your pituitary gland removed
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you have:
- High blood pressure or heart disease
- Diabetes
- An overactive thyroid gland
- Heart disease, e.g. long QT syndrome
Does this Sudafed nasal spray have any side effects?
Like all medications, Sudafed Sinus-Ease nasal spray can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These include:
- Local irritation, e.g. burning, soreness, dryness, stinging, itching, sneezing
- Nausea and headaches
- If you use this product continuously for a long time your congestion may return

How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place which is below 25 degrees C. Do not use this product if the expiry date printed on the original packaging has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
