How does loratadine relieve hay fever symptoms?
The active ingredient in Clarityn Allergy Syrup is loratadine (1mg/ml). Loratadine is an antihistamine, a type of medicine that blocks the effects of a substance called ‘histamine’ that is released by the body during an allergic reaction. By blocking this substance, the symptoms of hay fever can be relieved and prevented.
What are the symptoms of hay fever?
The symptoms of hay fever can be similar to that of a common cold. If your child is suffering from the following symptoms at around the same time every year (usually during the spring or summer), they may be suffering from hayfever:
-
Sneezing
-
Itchy nose and/or throat
-
Nasal congestion
-
Runny nose
-
Coughing
