What is Numark Mentholated Bronchial Balsam?
This Numark treatment is designed to help to treat the effects of a cough, a cold, and catarrh (excessive build-up of mucus in the throat and nose). This liquid has three active ingredients that help to treat the conditions. These are:
- Levomenthol
- Aniseed oil
- Capsicum tincture
Levomenthol is a decongestant that helps to reduce the swelling in the nose and sinuses that causes a blocked or stuffy nose. Aniseed oil has expectorant properties which help to move and loosen the mucus in the chest, nose and throat. Capsicum tincture, also known as red pepper or chilli pepper, is an ingredient that is used to help treat infections in the sinuses.

A cold is caused by a virus that spreads from person-to-person. This is usually done through germs that get into the air from sneezing. Germs can also get on surfaces from the hands that touch surfaces regularly. The germs can get into the body from the eyes, nose and mouth as well.
