What is Pollenase nasal spray?

Pollenase nasal spray is a treatment designed to help adults manage their hay fever symptoms. It helps to ease inflammation in your nose, helping you to breathe more easily and easing symptoms like sneezing and itching. If you’re looking for a quick way to treat your hay fever symptoms and protect your nose during pollen season, Pollenase could be the perfect solution for you.

Why do I have hay fever?

Hay fever simply means that you’re allergic by the pollen that’s produced by plants over the spring and summer months. When you come into contact with pollen your body produces a natural substance called histamine which tells different parts of your body to try and get rid of that pesky pollen. This causes the unpleasant symptoms you associate with hay fever, including sneezing, a blocked or runny nose, itchy, watery eyes, and the rest.

How will the beclometasone in Pollenase spray treat my hay fever symptoms?

Beclometasone dipropionate is the active ingredient in Pollenase nasal spray and it’s a type of medication known as a corticosteroid, or steroid. This means that this nasal spray works to ease hay fever symptoms by reducing inflammation in your nasal passages, preventing itching and sneezing. It also helps to clear a blocked nose by reducing swollen blood vessels, giving you room to breathe and easing a runny nose at the same time.

Can I take this product if I’m taking other medication?

Some medications can interact when taken together, causing unwanted side effects or making your medication less effective. This means that if you’re taking any other medication, including medicines obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. This especially applies if you’re already taking:

  • Corticosteroids medicines, such as asthma inhalers, eczema creams, nasal sprays, injections, eye or nose drops, etc.
  • Medications for HIV, including ritonavir or cobicistat

Can I take Pollenase with other hay fever medications?

Some hay fever medications can be taken at the same time to ease more severe symptoms. You may be able to take Pollenase with hay fever tablets or eye drops, but you should only do so if your doctor or pharmacist tells you it is safe to do so. Following the advice of medical professionals will help you to stay safe and take treatments that are right for you.

Can I take this product when I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding you should only take Pollenase if you have been told to do so by your doctor. Some medications may not be suitable for you or your baby at this time, but your doctor can help you to choose treatments that are safe and right for you.
