This Calcough cough syrup is a medicine that works to treat dry, tickly coughs. The syrup is colour and sugar-free. It contains the active ingredient glycerol which acts as a lubricant for the throat and chest that have become irritated as a result of a cough.
What causes a dry, tickly cough?
A cough is caused when the airways in the lungs, as well as the throat, become irritated. This is mainly because of an infection, such as a cold or the flu. A cough will just be one symptom of a condition and there will often be other symptoms visible as well.
Who is this Calcough syrup suitable for?
This syrup is suitable to be used by children aged from 3 months to 5 years. Any child who is allergic to the ingredients should not use it. If medication for any other condition is currently being used, then it is recommended that you speak to a doctor or pharmacist before using.
How should Calcough Infant Syrup For Tickly Coughs Apple be used?
For children aged from 3 months to 1 year, give them one 5ml spoonful between 3-4 times a day. For children aged from 1-5, up to this to two 5ml doses. Use the included spoon to measure the doses. If symptoms persist after 3 days of use, consult a doctor for advice.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are unlikely. If a side effect does appear, it is most likely caused by an allergic reaction. If you notice a side effect, then speak to a doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
