What are Sudafed Max Strength congestion and headache relief capsules?
Sudafed Max Strength is a treatment for headaches and congestion, especially those caused by sinusitis. It helps to relieve your pain and congestion while giving you the energy you need to go about your day to day life.
What is sinusitis?
Sinusitis is the name for what happens when your sinuses swell. This swelling is usually caused by infection and usually clears up by itself within 2 or 3 weeks. If you have sinusitis you may notice the following symptoms:
- Sinus headaches.
- Blocked nose.
- Pain, swelling, and tenderness around the cheeks, eyes, or nose.
- High temperature.
- Bad breath.
How does Sudafed Max Strength treat headaches and congestion?
Sudafed Max Strength contains three active ingredients which help to relieve headaches and congestion. These ingredients are:
- Paracetamol
- Caffeine
- Phenylephrine hydrochloride
Paracetamol works to relieve pain caused by headaches and ease a fever, where phenylephrine hydrochloride works as a decongestant. Caffeine is a stimulant which will help to relieve tiredness and help to increase the effects of pain relief.
How to take Sudafed Max Strength
Take two Sudafed Max Strength capsules every 4 – 6 hours, as needed. Do not take more than 8 Sudafed Max Strength capsules in any 24-hour period. Do not take for more than 3 days at a time.
When should Sudafed Max Strength not be used?
Sudafed Max Strength is not suitable for use by those under the age of 16. Do not take Sudafed Max Strength if you are allergic to paracetamol, caffeine, phenylephrine, or any of the other ingredients listed. Do not take Sudafed Max Strength if:
- You have high blood pressure.
- You have severe heart disease.
- You have circulatory problems.
- You have an overactive thyroid.
- You have a history of stomach ulcers.
- You are taking medication for depression known as MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
- You are taking tricyclic antidepressants, such as imipramine or amitriptyline.
