What are Olbas Oil Pastilles?
Olbas Oil Pastilles contain pure, natural plant oils to provide symptomatic relief against colds, coughs, catarrh, sore throats, flu, catarrhal headache and nasal congestion. Olbas pastilles contain essential oils which have decongestant properties.
What is the recommended dosage?
Always take Olbas Oil Pastilles exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / pharmacist has told you. For adults and children aged 7 years and over, dissolve 1 pastille slowly in the mouth when required. Do not take more than 8 pastilles in any 24 hour period.
How do decongestants work?
A decongestant clears up congestion, helping you to breathe easier. Congestion is caused when the blood vessels in your nose dilate, causing inflammation and discomfort. Decongestant treatments help to narrow these blood vessels, and with the swelling reduced, it allows more air to pass through and the mucus to drain, providing relief for cold and flu symptoms.
Are Olbas Oil Pastilles suitable for children?
Olbas Oil Pastilles are not recommended for children under 7 years of age. If you’re looking for a decongestant for a child under the age of 7, speak to your GP or pharmacist for advice on alternative treatment options.
Are Olbas Oil Pastilles suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
When should this product not be used?
Do not take Olbas Oil Pastilles if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product. This product contains 677 mg of sucrose per pastille. This should be taken into account in people with diabetes melitus.
Are there any side effects?
Like all medicines, Olbas Oil Pastilles may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody.
