What are Numark Travel Sickness tablets?
Numark Travel Sickness tablets are a treatment for travel sickness that work straight away to provide relief from nausea and vomiting. They can be used by children as young as five, leaving you free to relax knowing that you won’t have to deal with travel sickness during your jouney.
What causes travel sickness?
When you’re travelling in a car, boat, or aeroplane, the muscles in your inner ear will tell your brain that you’re moving. However, your eyes will send different information to your brain, causing confusion in the brain which makes you feel sick as you travel.
How do Numark Travel Sickness tablets work?
Numark Travel Sickness tablets contain the active ingredient promethazine, which prevents the vomit centre of your brain from receiving messages from your inner ear. This helps to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by travel sickness.
How to take Numark Travel Sickness tablets.
For adults who are looking to treat travel sickness:
- For long journeys take one tablet each night starting the night before you travel.
- For short journeys take one tablet one or two hours before travelling.
- For immediate treatment of travel sickness take one tablet as soon as you feel sick and a second tablet the same evening. Take a third tablet the evening after if you need to.
For children aged over 10, take one tablet. For children between the ages of 5 and 10, take half a tablet. For more exact information, see the product information leaflet.
When Should Numark Travel Sickness relief not be used?
Numark Travel Sickness tablets are not suitable for children under the age of 5. Do not take Numark Travel Sickness tablets if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Numark Travel Sickness tablets may make you feel drowsy, if you feel sleepy after taking these tablets do not attempt to drive or operate tools or machinery. Numark Travel Sickness tablets are not suitable for those who are taking depression medication called Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs), for example:
- Isocarboxazid
- Nardil or phenelzine
- Moclobemide
